What's the GM part number for the rear starter brace used on a small block with the 12 3/4" flywheel??

I have the small one for the larger flywheel, but now I need the longer brace with the "hook" on the end for the smaller wheel....

Thanks

rs,
I did not think there were two different ones. I have several new ones at home, I will take a look.

I found 3 different ones out there in the market and finally got the right one which had the slotted hook in it but there was no part number on it. I think Jonesy has part numbers tho, maybe he will chime in soon. I didnt count flywheel teeth so not sure about that either. hope this helps tho. If I recall the shorter one is 5.25" long while the slotted hole one is about 6" long.

The GM part number is #345353. :thumbsup:
They are still available from the dealer, cost is @$5.oo depending on your discount.
You can order them from Scrogins/Dickey or http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm.

There is a different number for each of the starter sizes. Some will interchange with BB's also, but you have to check the application.
The part number for the most common one for the larger flywheel (168 tooth or 14" size) is #3816511. The dealer couldn't find it in his computer last time I was in but, many of the restoration/repopper outlets still have them.

Hope some of this helps;
John

"originally purchased from the GM Dealer"

Maybe even last week... :rolleyes:
It's a current part.
He's asking(?) $16.00 + $5.95 for shipping - you can go into any GM dealer and get it for under $7.00 even if you don't get a discount from them...

Guess the prices the 'Vette people will pay are even stupiderier than the ones the Camaro sellers ask sometimes :clonk:

That is the correct piece that you need in the ebay ad. They are still available from the dealer for under $10 I believe. I had the part numbers somewhere if you need them.
