I installed a Hurst V-Matic 2 into my '67 Camaro w/ T400 this weekend and thought it went pretty well. I followed the instructions and adjusted the cable with L1 selected and the tranny in L1. The adjustment came out fine, I shifted into each gear with the cotter pin off and was able to slide the pin in and out of the tranny arm. My problem is, the shifter doesn't seem to lock in an exact location in park like the other gears. Once you clear the reverse lockout, there are a few inches of play in the shifter. This play is enough that you can move the shifter all the way back and the trans comes out of park. The Hurst tech line guy said just adjust it more, the other gears will still work even if I'm not exactly on the detents. I didn't really like this advice. Has anyone else seen this or noticed play in the Park position with this shifter.
