i knew people that were "drifting" before it was called anything.
it used to be known as "beating on your car".
my cousin Andy once wrote his name in a highway using the "drifitng" method in a 73 Monte Carlo..
and the Duke boys used to "drift" all over Hazzard county in an orange Charger..

I saw a show on tv that showed young kid's drifting (ABUSING) ricers that had to be something else that came out of that damn movie FAST AND THE FURIOUS that one movie is responsible for a lot of that crap you see today , you know I sometimes (DRIFT) around the wood's in my company truck !!

and don't get me started on those crotch bike's ,

Exactly, it's nothing new! They just made a special name for beating the crap out of your car!

From what I have heard, this drifting thing is teaching the youngin's about the fun of RWD. So that may be a good thing.

Oh yeah, I think it's a great thing. Gives people a place to legally thrash their stuff! Fun fun fun! :thumbsup:

As a scanctioned sport it started with the fwd cars and they just used the e-brake when they wanted to make the rear come around. Then comes the movie FF and FF2 and like magic the rwd cars do it with power not brakes... ;)
