A lot of the stuff for my boy's 68 came in boxes. I found two slightly different owners manuals (part #'s 3955532 and 3940153), a "What you should know about... DO YOUR SHARE FOR CLEAN AIR" card, warranty paperwork showing effective sale date of 09-28-1968 and sale price of $2737, and the "Owner Protection Plan with the Protectoplate. Here is the plate listed below for the CRG folks, I hope this helps everyone out there.

That looks like a second owner POP, not the original. I *think* if the car was sold before the warrany was expired, the new owner could transfer the warranty, and therefore was issued a new POP.

Yup, that's correct, it's a 2nd owner POP. Which loses the drivetrain info, for whatever reason.... :(
Thanks!

Probably because the original owner kept it and the VIN was the only thing they knew for sure.

The original POP actually went to the zone office, IIRC. So it's not like the info wasn't available. All replacement POP's are the same format. Never made a lot of sense to me, seemed to defeat the whole purpose of the POP program.

Is it possible to get the POP? I would like to know what all was in my car. I only have the orig. owners manual to it.If not is there a way to get this kind of detailed info?

Nope, no way to get that at all. Sadly.

If your car has the original engine , trans and rear end then most of the info is right there on those components
