I'm not a regular on this board, but this is something that EVERY Camaro enthusiast should be made aware of.

Dave Hamburger, son of Ed who is the owner of SLP, who produced the LT1 SS Camaros is currently supporting and enabling people to make fake SS Camaros and Firehawks!

I am doing my best to get the word out about these shady business practices and have already notified GM, PHR, GMHTP and everybody else that will listen.

Details about everything can be found here: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=399353

Write letters, emails, talk to people, but get the word out.

Interesting thread, but I don't think you will find many people here who care all that much about 4th gen's. This is mainly a first gen site and has been around long enough to see a lot of fake cars. The basic feeling here is one of caveat emptor, you will never eliminate the clones so just be careful and know what you are buying.

Jason,

Yes that is disturbing but we 1st Gen owners go through this everyday. That doesn't make it right, but that's the fact.

What I find comical about that thread is all the infighting going on.

Jason - I didn't read the entire thread but know what this is about. SLP and Dave H are not encouraging cloning by selling left over key fobs with production numbers on them. A key fob is not going to ever be proof a car is an slp car. Years ago SLP tried to close out these and offered them up on their web site at greatly reduced prices. They didn't have a set for my car, too bad for me. I didn't have the orig as they were lept by the previous owner along with the dash plaque and the floor mats.

I find nothing wrong with Dave selling off stock that nobody wanted. Unless you have the vin to go with the #1450 of 2410 key fob or numbered dash plaque and the door and under hood stickers you won't be pulling off more than a look alike.

I'm closing this because I don't want this spewing over from the other site to here. I'll leave it readable though.
