I just got a set of 17" Torque Thrust II's (used), and need to know what kind of lug nuts to use? I have heard that you use acorn style lug nuts, which is what I have from my Rally's, but I just want to make sure. Don't want to be driving down the road and have one of my new(to me) 17x8/17x9.5's, pass me up.

Also, what is the torque specs for these rims?

Thanks for the help

yes, use acorn style, BUT a word of caution. I found that my stock axle (12 bolt) studs were too short for the TTIIs. Check your thread engagement. I think I went with 1/2'' longer studs. (from Advance Auto)

I just put the same rims on my 69..I asked about the tq and was told about 75lbs...I will have to look at the lug nuts..

Thanks for the reply's.

How much of the stud should stick thru? Or how much of the lug nut should thread on?

ChevyThunder, car looks great, what color is that? Black or dark burgundy?

Thanks again.

You will have to change the stock rear studs. You'll be lucky to have 2-3 threads of engagement if you don't. VERY dangerous.

Ok, checked the threads. The front lugnuts thread on 10 times to seat in, the rear thread on 5 times. So this isn't enough?

Thanks

I'd like to know the answer to this also. I put them on my car and didn't really notice if they were short or not. I have the car put away for the winter and only put about 10 miles on the TTII's before I put the car away. If I need to change the studs I'd like to know before the cold weather really hits me. Thanks in advance.:o

I just tightened them down(6 turns) and have drove it about 150 miles. They haven't loosened up any and haven't had any problems so far. I am actually looking for a set of lug nuts that go back in the rim and use a washer, but so far have only found ones that are too large and won't thread into the hole.

Thanks
