I bought a 400 sbc this week, and in with the other parts, I found a set of main caps for a BBC. The # is 963, but the end cap is 967. Anyone know what engine they should go into/fit? Also, since the end cap # is different, does it go to something else?

Are these new, unmachined caps ? If not, they might as well go in the scrap pile as they are machined to match each block at the factory and are very difficult to put on another block.

Yes Bill, they appear to have never been put on a motor. Mostly, I was looking to see if they are "scarce" in any way, but also wanted to help out another team camaro member if they could be used. I know that my local shop told me that the rear cap's are extremely hard to come by... If anyone knew what they went to, then I would know if I could let em go, hang onto them, or pitch em in the round filing system :)
