I went back to my childhood home 30 years later(in Atlanta), went into the crawl space in the back, dug down and found my old Wagon Train lunch box with Hot Wheels still in it. Very Cool.

bh3chevy Feb 14th, 03, 12:16 AM Being the youngest in the family I ended up having quite a few things that didn't get destoyed by younger siblings. Lots of Hot Wheels/Matchbox, hot wheels drag set (Goose and Snake - shoots and all, about 10,000 army men (including a complete Fort Apache), A set from the old TV series "Rat Patrol" that includes two guys and a jeep with a 50 cal. machine gun, a butt load of train stiff, All the Johhny West figures (Johhny, Captain Maddox, Chief Cherokee, Jay, and yes even Jane), wagons, horses, etc. Thought many times about ebaying this stuff, but how do you put a price on your childhood and just sell the stuff ? They can sell it when I'm dead.

drdave69 Feb 14th, 03, 02:12 AM Sad to say I don't have any of my childhood toys. When I was in junior high, my uncle's house burned. My mom thought it would be a good deed to donate all of our toys to my younger cousins. I can only remember some of the toys, there were so many. Planet of The Apes figures and fort, many GI Joe items, Geronimo 'doll', I had the (hot wheels) Mongoose & Snake drag setup also, Command Control football game (vibrating type), anyone remember Big Jim? (smaller than GIJ but if you bend his arm up, his bicep enlarged), many hot wheels and tracks, many matchbox cars, Smash up Derby cars (zip cord, panels came off when crashed). I can't even remember half of what we had when growing up.

I also still have a model of the Chrysler Turbine car that C-P dealers were giving away. My Dad was a salesmen at one in the late fities/early sixties.

Tempted to open a pack now and then but I overcome the urge and go work on 68 instead. Who knows when its time to paint it some packs might have to be sold to get the money for that.
