Question about my front tires rubbing my fenders. I bought a 67 camaro from my brother who only had it for about three months and he had someone change it from drum brakes to disc and lower it by chopping the springs to drop it 2" now tires rub. is that the cause?

front tire clearance is a pretty complicated issue, they move around a lot. Shoot us some more info, including tire size, measured diameter, wheel width and backspace, and height from the ground to the fender lip.

Typically they'll rub on top at the outside or on the frame rail in the back when turning.

How bad ist the rubbing? Is it both sides? When does it rub, constantly, only when turning, etc?

What is the current backspacing (BS)/width of the front rims and what is the tire size?

Here are a few things that come to mind.

-- Converting from drum to disc will increase the track widht about 1/8"-1/4" meaning you have less distance between outside wall of tire and fender.
-- Correct wheel combination: BS, rim width and tire size.
-- It was actually dropped more than 2", did you measure before and after?
-- Front springs are worn out and should have been replaced
-- Car is not properly aligned.

hmmmm.... still need more. 15" rallye wheels were not standard on most 67 Camaro's. They could have come from a number of different cars. If they're 7" wide, they should pretty much fit. 8" could be 'chevelle / monte carlo wheels those would have 4.5" backspace and should pretty well fit. Vette 15 x 8's only have 4" backspace, they would get into the outside of the wheelwell lips pretty good on a powered car.

What size are the tires? what width are the rims? what is the backspace?

Fwiw, my stock, 14" x 6" steel wheels have 3.75" back space which means they have a 2.25" front space!!

My Fenton slotted mag's are 14" x 7" with 3.5" back spacing which means they have a 3.5" front spacing AND my wheel well lips chrome pieces would cut my sidewalls slightly when at full droop! With old E-60, bias ply tires on them.

What I am trying to say is you need a stock 2.25" front space wheel to keep from cutting your tires, IMHO!! Then widen them by increasing the back spacing AND leave the front spacing ALONE...
