Bought a new carb and duel feed line with a built in filter and pressure gauge (positioned after the built in filter). The pressure gauge is jumping from 3 to 4 lbs. I have a newer Holley mech fuel pump. I put another gauge before the duel feed line (and filter) and its reading a steady 5.5 lbs. Is the summit duel feed line with the gauge defective? I couldnt imagine that the filter is supposed to take away 2 lbs of pressure?

Probably the summit guage. any way you can put your other guage between the filter and the cabr to test?

"IF" the mentioned gauge is liquid filled, then it might need that you bleed some air from the inside of it, thru its rubber plug.

Summit uses cheap gauges. Remove the filter and install an inline filter, more filter area with less pressure loss. And replace the gauge with a liquid filled.
You can get a liq-filled gauge reasonably priced from www.mcmaster.com
