I'm wiring this thing up at the last minute and ran into a problem that I cant figure out... The car dies when the box is grounded! All the wiring is right according to MSD's instructions. http://msdignition.com/pdf/8975_frm24994.pdf

Yellow = going to white wire on MSD 6AL
Red = Switched 12V source
Black = Grounded
Brown = hooked up to the "hot" wire coming off the relay for my nitrous solenoids

I need to get this thing working by tonight! With the key ON if you brush the ground wire against anything metal the red light on the retard box will blink a few times but never remain on... The ground wire is grouned properly in the same place other wires are grounded (and they work fine) - the ground is DEFINATELY solid. No matter where you ground it the light just flickers real fast a few times. All the dials are set properly too.

The car will not start with the retard box grounded and if you ground it while the motor is running it'll instantly die. I even tried reving the motor up and grounding it thinking that it was retarding the timing too far but it instantly dies regardless of RPM.

Any ideas on this? its driving me nuts! I need to get the car running by tonight. help!!

Try putting the black, dark blue, gray, and orange wires all together and ground them. Then hook the brown wire to the nitrous solenoid positive and see what happens. Make sure the brown wire is on the positive wire going to the solenoids.

I tried everything known to man to get this thing to work and short of the red light flickering once in awhile it shows no sign of life. Guess this ebay-bought item is junk... Looks like I'll be manually backing the timing when I spray now :(
