Can someone direct me to a site which can help me figure out the make and model of my 12-bolt rear-end. It is in a 67 Camaro RS. I know it is a 3.73 posi, but nothing aside from that.
It has an id stamped on it CF 10168 or CF 1016R.
The last digit is a bit obscurred.
Many Thanks!

CF 1016R, the R is probably a G
Is it the original rear?? Does it have the traction bar attached to it??
67 Camaro rear end codes started with P and Q. Is there a chance it's QF?
If it is CF, that's a Chevelle code for 3:31 posi
CF =
1016 = October 16th
G = Detroit Gear and Axle

I didn't think the 67's came with 12-bolt rear-ends. Especially just an RS. I would be surprised if it was original to be honest.
It does have traction bars.
The CF 1016G makes sense. Is there a site out there that documents this data?
Is there any way to tell what year it is out of?

Paul

Check out http://www.camaros.org. It is THE authorative site on first gen Camaros. Some 67 Camaros did come with 12 bolt rear ends. Mostly SS models, and rarely others, like some L30/M20 models.

Here is a pic of the factory traction bar Jonesy was refering to:

Could also have been a square bar, and is also refered to as a radius rod.
