Hey guys! Been working on what has turned out to be quite a long project on my '67 RS/SS coupe. At this point, I am putting new rubber and weatherstripping on the passenger-side vent window.

As I was tightening the nut that controls the tension on that vent window - I heard a pop, saw a bit of dust fly, and found that further tightening was futile! I stripped a thread on the rod that pokes through the bottom of the vent window.

What can I do?! Is there something I can use to cut good threads back into that rod?

Thank you!

You could try using a thread tap. That might clean it up a enough to tighten the nut some more.

stack a small rod or washers to get back lower on the shaft to good threads and maybee grease them this time.

Both good ideas! I will probably try them both!

Thanks, fellas!
