Gang,

New to the site. Looking to restore a 1968 ss396 coupe with different engine. Currently Blue with white blumble bee stripe around the grill area. Also the interior is blue vinyl. Hoping to find a matching 396 someday and make it a collector. What are people's opinion on adding the white z-28 style hood and trunk stripes and changing the interior to a black houndstooth?

sounds like a great combo love the 68 houndstooth seats with the emblems sweet west68

I say do what you want with your car. Being a 68, a "correct" motor wont amount to as much as it would for the 67 or 69 models. You would need to have the original, #s engine.

Make it like you want, but dont get too "wild" with it. Meaning, keep the differentiations to those that were available from the factory.
