The rear in my Camaro is acting up and needs to be rebuilt but I want to keep driving the car for a little while longer, my brother has a 79 Camaro that is junk and he is parting it out, would the 10 bolt from that fit my 69?

The rear housing is alittle wider as in tread width, about 1 inch, I think.
The spring perches are 1 1/2 inches wider and a shorter driveshaft will have to be made or done to the OE driveshaft. I did find a large U-joint driveshaft at the recycle yaerd and had it shorten to fit.
Brakes, as in the whole backing plate assembly, are a direct interchange.
I did this to a 67 I had and the springs were alittle bowed because I did not move the spring perches inboard. The tread width was alittle wider, not a big deal. I did use the later model driveshaft, but I had to change the rear U-joint to match the smaller U-joint from the 67 to the larger U-joint yoke, Precision p/n P372.

The spring perches are actually 2 3/4 inches farther apart. I don't recommend trying to bolt it n as it is without moving the spring perches. The springs will not work properly, it will put a lot of strain on the mounting bolts and it might damage the bushings. The total width is 1 inch wider.

From the master, follow his advice.
