I have the same intake, and I had problems with it getting hot and literally boiling the fuel in the carb. I got a 1 inch spacer and it solved my problem. I didn't notice any performance gain or anything, but I will tell you something that sucks about the spacer... Because it is a rather flexible material, it likes to squish down in the corners where the carb bolts snug up. Even by just snugging up the bolts enough to make a proper seal, not tight at all, the dang spacer flexed enough to put sufficient pressure on the carb base plate to crack it, and it was a brand new carb to boot. That was unpleasant to say the least. So if you decide to use one, you may wish to try an aluminum spacer that is more rigid; this is, of course, if heat isn't an issue like it was with my Street Dominator intake.

A carb spacer will provide a performance gain in most cases but on your combination.. Who knows?
You'll just need to try it and see.
