Help me get the most out of this combo:

454 bored .030 -- already have this
4" stroke -already have this
any cam under a 700 lift
Any compression under 10.75:1
GM rect port heads 118cc 325cc ported - already have these
super victor intake - already have this but can change

car is 3700 lbs
any gear
any stall

1/8 mile racing
pro tree

I'd pick a piston with a 30cc dome to get 10.75:1 compression. No need to go any less compression than that. Check PV clearance and set the quench as tight as you can or .035" at the tightest.

Looking at A Comp 296CR-8 roller cam with 296/304 advertised, 262/270* duration @ .050" lift, .714" gross lift (minus lash will be NET .686") with 1.7 rockers, 108* LSA, installed at 104* ICL. I'm sure there are other brands that are similar spec, the specs I mention should work fine with 10.7:1 and pump gas (I assume that why you said 10.7 max).

Should make power from 4000-6800 and will need a 4500-5000 RPM converter. That's either a tight 8" or a loose 10". Gears . . . probably 4.56 for 1/8th mile depending on tire height.
