Is there a way to find out where my camaro was originally sold from? I know it was in California. I have a copy of the old registration from the owner previous, to the guy i bought it from. I guess i could write him a letter. Is there any other way? :beers:

I just found the guys number and called him... he was not home so I left my number and my email address.. he emailed me ..the guy sold my car in 1982 to the second owner..it was great to talk to him and he even had some pictures for me and naturally some good stories

The registration card I got with my car wasn't issued to the guy I purchased it from. It still had the name of a previous owner on it from the early 90's.
I grabbed the phone book and tracked him down.

Thats the same way I have done it. Look for old information on titles, registrations even look in the owners manual. Look on old repair orders and c/c recipts.,Back in the 70's & 80's c/c fraud wasnt as bad and alot of the time the carbon copy was stapled to repair invoices.
I have been able to track down quite afew owners that way.
It is pretty cool tracking down old owners and talking with them. you get to here some neat stories sometimes.
It's funny how cars can bring out a common bond in people who are 100's if not 1000's of miles apart and who do not even know each other. I know of very few things that can create so much excitement and create a friendship between people.
