I have an 89 camaro rs 305 v8. one day my camaro just stalled. It as been running funny ever since. I will have the petal to the metal and it will go 25mph and stay there then all of a sudden jump to 50mph. Since then I got an oil chang, tune up, and took it to pep boys for a scope and some work on it. pep boys couldnt fix it and now I am getting my money back and I dont know what it could be. Can I please have some help diagnosing the problem? Thank you

did you change the fuel filter? if so its possible the pump is getting ready to go.
also the TPS (throttle position switch) could be bad.

Could be a clogged catalytic converter....Can cause dramatic loss of power while car still revs the same... Just a thought...

what you need to do is look under the dashboard under the steering wheel and you will find an electrical connector port. there will be 12 little square holes in it. the very last two holes on the bottom right, you will take a piece of wire stripped on both ends and connect the two ports together with that wire(jumping the terminals). turn the key on, engine off and the "service engine soon" light will flash. it will blink a number of times, pause, then blink another number of times. these blinks are codes stored in the ecm(engine control module). example: 2 blinks, pause, 4 blinks indicates code 24. 1 blink, pause, 2 blinks indicates code 12. code 12 will flash at the beginning of the test, and at the end. once you retrieve these codes, it will help tremendously.
