hi all, new here but ive had my 68 cut up for about 10 yrs now waiting to put a rear clip in and im finally getting around to it, im wondering if some of you guys could share some pics with me so i can see if what im coming up with is right, my rear crossmember is hanging below the body line about 1/2-1" ,sure is ugly and doesnt look right,any help would greatly appreciated, thanks-david dcscouts@aol.com

David,
How are the lower links arranged? If they angle down from the axle to front pickup, you may have some geometry issues. I am assuming when you mention that your crossmember is below the bodyline that refers to the crossmember you installed for you forward pickups. I guess what I am saying is your crossmember should be fine as long as the geometry is fine and it is strong enough.

yeah the front drop c-member where the arms hook to,the sub frame conn.(which are just really straight pieces of metal) are level with the frame,then the c-member is tacked in square and level w/the connectors at the bottom, so i guess its right-just ugly to see about a inch or so hanging out from the body!! ill try to take some pics of mine so you can see, thanks,david
