Hood pins a simply what they sound like, pins that attach to (usually) your radiator support and stick up through holes cut into the hood, in which another pin is slid horizontally through a hole in the pin that sticks through the hood. No, it won't keep anyone from popping your hood unless you put padlocks through the holes instead of pins :D But then that would be ugly as heck.

Hood pins usedto be really popular with hot rodders back in the '80s, I think I had 5 or 6 cars with them...I think nowadays people hesitate to drill large holes in their hoods, but I kind of like the safety advantage of knowing your hood won't fly up when you're flying down the highway.

I used to have a friend who used a huge chain and lock to lock his hood down,
he'd lay on the ground under the front end, reach up, wrap the chain around somewhere, and lock it. So anytime he wanted to open the hood, he'd have to crawl up in there and unlock the damn thing!

I've used the lockable pins on several cars with nice results. Summit, Jegs, Speedway, etc... They all sell them and they're easy to install. The downside is that yes, you have to drill holes in your hood so you loose originality. Is this worth someone stealing your battery??? You decide...

Make sure you get the Stainless steel pads and use stainless steel hardware so they don't rust.
