since replacing the motor in my camaro with a 406, I havent been able to set the idle correctly. I can set it at 800 rpm and rev the motor and it will stay at 2,000 rpm until I ether put it in gear or stick my hand over the Carb to choke it, only then will it go back to the 800 rpm again. the Carb is a BG 750 claw which worked fine on the engine I had it on before. It also has a miss above 5,500rpm lean I fear, went up two jet sizes in the secondries but have not had a chance to test since, Engine pulls 3 to 4 " of vacuum at idle, I installed a 2.5 vac power valve in the primary side of the carb as per Barry Grant recomendations. Any help would be great,

Thanks Mike

Either you've got a huge cam or a vacuum leak.
