OK...my grandson dumped my brand new box of Sealed Pro rings all over the carpet this morning that I just set out to set the gaps and now I have no idea what ring goes where. Can anyone help? There are 8 all back rings with "TOP" on one side and 8 black rings with a shiny face and a dot on one side. I do understand that "Top" and the dot (.) mark mean faces to the top of piston.

Thanks :clonk:

The all black rings should be the cast iron second compression rings, and the shiny faced ones should be the top moly rings. However, I'd still call the manufacturer to verify.

The shiny face ring should be the top ring and the inside bevel should face the top and the dot is up

The second ring the dot is up and the inside bevel should face down.

Thanks guys. You are all correct...I got that same info from a supplier as well. Rings already checked and pistons are ready to drop in. Just need to pick up a tapered .030 ring compressor. Anything inexpensive out there?

Thanks
