I have a 68 Camaro with the straight 6 and 3 speed transmission. I am putting in a 350 and new transmission and want to try to sell the motor either locally or through ebay. The motor ran great, the heads have been rebuilt, rebuilt carb, new fuel pump, etc...Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on what I can expect to sell this for, or if it is even worth selling?

Thank you..

P.S. I will probably be asking a lot of questions over the next couple months, as I am going to attempt a suspension upgrade, disk brake conversion, motor sway, subframe powder coating, and subframe bushings...I hope everyone is ready for a ton of questions!!! This is really a great site to work you through any problems that arise...

My guess is that it wont make a dent to offset any future costs,,, I would just hang on to it if you have room...Try ebay?

I have seen running Camaro L6's on Ebay for starting bids of $75 get no takers, so there doesn't seem to be much of a market. They are so cheap I was going to get one just in case I ever got crazy and wanted to correctly restore my 69, but I decided I'd rather not store one until I am senile.

I sold the engine out 6 banger out of my 69 for $500. It was in the car running, I sold it complete from air cleaner to oil pan and from radiator to tranny tail shaft. I suggest you advertise it locally in a "trader" type magazine or freebie paper. E-bay won't bring much because that usually means shipping, in many cases the shipping will cost more than the engine is worth.

My opinion is the type of person that would buy it will probably be the "frugal" <sp> type.

Oh and mine was a powerglide not a 3 speed.

I sold a complete running 230 6 out of a 64 Chevelle last year for $200. It was 100% complete and ran good. I gave onother one away out of a 65 Chevelle. They are not worth a ton. But good cheap motor if you need one. EBay would not be a good place to sell that, too exspensive to ship. Put it on Craigslist or TC. Good luck.
