I have a 95 camaro that caught on fire in the engine compartment and melted wiging harness and computer.
3.4L with Auto trans.
I found a 94 Camaro 3.4L with Manual trans, salvage car.
Was told that the wiring harness and computer would work on 95 as long as I swap the trans also as the computer is programmed for the trans.
Swapped out Eng/Trans/Computer and all plugs connected.
Engine turns over and spark plugs fire, but no fuel is being pumped.
I spray fuel in air body and it runs for a sec.
I did find the Fuel relay switch and jumped the wires to ensure the fuel pump does work and it did pump gas. Tried swapping out the ignition switch but that locks everything up for 5 min. Does the computer need to be reprogrammed? Any ideas?

This certainly appears to be a VATS issue ( Vehicle Anti Theft System ). The chip in the key has a certain resistance value and the computer knows that value. I would think that switching the ignition switch and using the key from the donor car would resolve the issue .. Other options are to flash the computer to disable the VATS or, there are systems that you can buy ( do Google or IE search on VATS disable ) to disable the VATS ... These systems can be had for less than $30. Many shops that install remote starters know how to bypass the VATS also ...
