I took my rear seat out and found this! What is it? some kinda letters there?? :)

Just kidding, I know what it is. It is the lower half of an X1 that is on my Norwood Oct 68 convertible rear set support. This proves it was an X11 style trim car (trim tag does not show it of course). I have all the style trim goodies to put back on later.

I always wondered if they did the crayon X thing on pre dec cars and convertibles. Now I know the answer to both.

Whats the build date on the car?

Not sure exactly when they started doing that, but it was several weeks before they started Xing the tags. There was a 10D (early, non X tag) car discussed here a week or so ago that had the chalk X behind the seat.

But not all cars, even those with X code tags, had the X chalk behind the seat. I guess it was somewhat random.
