: Heater blower and core delete panels

I have removed the entire front end from my 68 Camaro and have run into a delema that I was hopeing to get some ideas. My car had an underdash AC unit which I removed since it wasnt working. I want to get an aftermarket AC unit, probably like the one from Vintage Air to go up inside behind the dash. I do not have the extra money to purchase this unit right now, and may not have the money for maybe a year or more since it is near the bottom of my list. My delema is that after reading a number of post here, it appears that I need to block off the holes for the blower motor and the hole for the heater core. Is there a cheap way to do this? I would think it would be easier to do it now that it is apart then have to remove the fender to get the blower motor out later to plug these holes. I thought if I plug these now, it will save me a big job down the road. I saw the block off plates in Classic Industries, but they are $150 which I cant afford right now. Are there any other aftermarket block off panels that are cheaper or is there any other way to do this? I was going to call Vintage Air to see if they just sell the block off panels separatly. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do here?

Thanks...

I dont have a welder, and since the car is apart, I cant bring it anywhere to have it done...

Can I just plug the hole in the cover (weld it shut) or does it have to be the two on the firewall?

you can plug it however you want,

i would do it on the firewall because it would look cleaner

if you dont have a welder, just use some epoxy sealer and bolt a flat piece in place

Well I found a heater delete kit which includes both the round blower motor and the rectangular heater core replacement or block out panels at Vintage Air for right around $50.00. This beats Classic Industries by about $100.00.
