I just purchased a 67 out of a barn and am thinking about converting it to a convertible. Am I crazy?

I Strongly don't recommend it. It's been asked a few times on here before so a few searches would have gotten you a bit more opinions on the topic:

There's lots more on the topic, but I think you get the idea. Do some more searches if you're still not convinced; and if that doesn't work, we'll keep talking until you ARE convinced it's a bad idea.

It isn’t like modern day cars that you may of heard of. You can’t just cut the hard top off & make it a convertible. There were many structural differences in the old days between a hard top & convertible, basically from the ground up. If you really want a convertible, sell the coupe & buy a project off of ebay. :)

Thanks for all the opinions! I was thinking it probably wasn't a good idea and you guys definately confirmed that! It still will be fun to take this car out of a barn and make it new again.
