From what I understand, the after market sells a convertible top that is made to work with a glass rear window. My top currently has a glass rear window but the center silicon is broke, from what I have gathered on this site is that it most likely broke because the top was designed to have the original plastic window. I received a new glass window as a gift and I am not sure if I should install it, with the fear of the silicon breaking on the new window again. My questions are:
Can you tell if your top is meant to have a glass rear window?
If not what are the options? Do you have to unzip the rear window before lowering the top?
Should I just remove the glass and replace with plastic? The car is always garaged and will never see sunlight for very long...with the top up that is.
Should I replace the entire top with one designed for glass? My top is in good condition barring a little dirt.
Also the new glass rear window has three year warranty, I could put it in and if it breaks just have it replaced. This could ruin my chances of returning it though. Any help would be appreciated.
