I had the opportunity to look at a pair of the current (2004) Repo Crossram 4295 carbs today, that are currently availiable from several venders on Epay.
I compared them to my originals and there are a Lot of differences.

#1. The main body has extra ribs on the sides of the body front and back, and the existing ribs are way thicker.
#2. The flange at the base of the main body is WAY different, much thicker and curved.
#3. The boosters have a tapered shape on the leg that sticks out.
#4. Rear accelerator pump lever and cam are totaly different, look like todays current double pumper style.
#5. Accelerator pump housings are wrong style , they have phillips screws to retain them instead of the original clutch screws.
#6. Front accelerator pump arm and spring and adjusting screw are wrong, look like double pumper arms.
#7. Metering blocks have a little square where the mixture screw is.
#8. Metering block numbers are wrong.
#9. Hex Head Bowl screws.
#10. Body is slightly different on the air cleaner flange were the air clener sits at the front.
#11. They have a hole on the rite side ( were the choke mechanism rod would go on a street style carb), that is blocked with a little piece of bar stock pressed in to seal it shut. ( Later service date 4295,s also had this, originals were not drilled)
#12. No manufacturing Date on airhorn.

I am not slamming this current reproduction, but just want to make TC Members aware of the obvious difference,s considering the current craze towards crossram,s.
The date thing kinda bugs me, because it leaves unscrupulous vendors the chance to stamp 69 dates into the air horn, change the bowl screws, and pass them off as originals to a unsuspecting rookie. I have already seen a couple of sets on Epay, a couple of weeks ago.

It is about time this carb was re released, but i wish they would have taken the time to make it alot more 69 era correct!

One good thing is that they do have the correct rear bowls, with the float site plug on the outside.

Just my .25 worth, again do not take this post out of context, it was started for information purposes only.

Great information Mike. Might prove useful to those who want a Crossram and thought they might buy a set of these thinking they were correct. Far from being correct I see.
