Is anyone running the 17" or even 18" billet repro rallye wheels from Wheel Vintiques? If so can you post or send me some pictures. I really want to see what they look like on a first gen. Thanks. I have done a search and could find no pictures. weggenmann@sbcglobal.net

Jeff, Cfunk posted some pictures of my car in this thread:

scroll to the bottom of the thread. Those are the best pictures I have. The wheels are 17 x 8 with 4.75" backspacing. Front tires are 245/45/17 and rears are 255/45/17.

Woody:
Do you think you could run a 275 in the rear witha 9 or 9.5 inch rear wheel with no problems?
Saw your from San Diego.
I lived there until 2000 when I moved to Camden Arkansas. I lived in Lakeside.

Joe, I know a lot of guys run 275 tires on 9.5" wheels on first generation Camaros. I think most use a 5.5" backspace. It looks to me like there would be room to do that. I seriously considered doing a 275/40/17, but I did not want to take a chance with rubbing, so I went with the next smaller size. It does look like it would physically fit, and a lot of guys report using that size with little or no rubbing issues. With my existing sizes I do have very minor rubbing on large bumps, but not to the point of causing tire damage.
Do you miss San Diego? I dont plan on ever leaving.

Hey Woody thanks for the info;
Ya I miss San Diego, I have a daughter that graduates from Grosemont High this year and also turns 18 in April so I will be out for those. She is really truly the only thing I miss....................well the weather also. San Diego has the best cliamate on gods green earth hands down. Arkansas is so pretty through, no traffic, great people, long roads to noware. I just love driving the back roads in the Camaro to places we have not seen. Little stores with fried chicken and cold cokes. I park and even with the Camaro looking like crap ( camaro is in the body shop now and will look awsome soon) it like a one person car show. Unlike Ca people here are just so friendly and go out of their way to say hello. It has been hard to get used too some times.
