I've got a line on a recently rebuilt (near-stock) 1967 Chevy 327 casting number 3903352. I would want to put it in my 76 and bolt a Muncie M-21 behind it. Here are a few questions I have:
Can I bolt Vortec (062) heads on there without any problems (w/ correct intake)?
Can I use HEI ignition/distributor from a 350?
With the Vortec heads can I mount accessory brackets from a 350?
Any idea on compression ratio?
Thanks!

Any idea on compression ratio? Assuming a flat top piston with valve reliefs, a 4.030 bore, 64cc chamber, and a .045 quench, about 9.5:1.

Thanks for the reply!
What benefits, if any, does a 327 have over a 350?

With a decent 270 to 280 solid lifter cam and no more than a cheap set of Z- type valve springs that fit the Vortec heads, you can hold her down as long as you feel safe before you shift!!
7,000 rpm easy.

pdq67: hello from NastyZ28 ;)
I'm pretty stoked about this engine. It's about 240 miles from me and I'd be picking it up. How much less does it weigh compared to a 350?

Should be close one difference is the 3.48 stroke crank compared to a 3.25 Of course that also depends on what parts are inside. Just a example say one had aluminum rods ... it just lost alot of weight. Even lifters and piston design will have a effect on this but unless it has major work done on it it wont be much if any lighter than the 350.
