hey guys I was looking through the classifieds on this site and cam upon a guy selling a 68 camaro and a 72 nova. I was thinking of offering $7500. In your opinion do you think that is too much? I would probably take the engine out of the nova and put it in the camaro and sell the nova. Do you think i could get $2000 for the body and trans? what about if i put the 350 TBI engine in it. basically I have $7500. I want to be able to have some money to start working on it (i know it won't be enough to finish the camaro). let me know what you guys think.

Here's how I see it. $7500 for both cars. Mix and match whatever parts you want to keep for the Camaro. (after all this is the reason for purchase). Assuming you sell the leftover Nova and parts for 2k, that leaves $5500 for the Camaro. Is the Camaro now worth $5500 (to you) with all you have now? Will you sell the Nova as a runner or car w\parts. This might affect value. In other words will you set the Nova up as a running car to maximize your possibility of getting 2k? How solid is the Camaro? How solid is the Nova? I admit I know nothing about Nova value. If you kept the 700r4 trans, and the 12 bolt posi, and if the wheels and tires from the Nova are good, and your choice of motor, you would IMO have a pretty good starter Camaro for $5500 provided you get 2k for the Nova. Without more info on the Camaro, I can't answer the question fairly. I guess I would say that IF you got 2k for the Nova, you would be in the range of a fair deal IF the Camaro was as solid as advertised.
IF I don't make any sense, It's because I'm currently going to school majoring in Business\Finance, and I'm learning that nothing makes sense. :D I think It's a fair deal if you work it right. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

thanks for you opinion. I think basically I would take the 454 and maybe the 350 trans (might keep the 700r4). I would also take the wheels from the nova and maybe the rearend. But i would put the rear from the camaro in the nova if i swaped. I guess i will have to sit and think about if this is really worth it.

thanks

Tom,

It has a 402 BBC not a 454. If it was a 454 I would have bought them and swiped the nova drivetrain and parted the rest out. I would part out or sell the 68 Camaro too. I just wanted the Big Block, TH350, and 12 bolt. Too much extra baggage for me to buy. Now if he separated the cars then i would bid on the Nova for the drive train.

Per 383's plan. I think $5500 for that 68 Camaro is way to high.

By the way the guy selling the 2 car dropped the price to $7500.
