is it me, or are things real slow 'round here in the evening? Seems worst when I submit a post. Also, seemed both TC's were down completely at around 8:45 central today. Don't think it's me, lateral-g works.

Yea...I have noticed it too... Seems the worse when there are a lot of people visiting the site...500 right now!

730pm and Im getting the 'too busy' notice too, just info. for Al so he knows when it seems to get loaded down.

9:35 central... replied to a pm, waiting 50 seconds looking at a blank screen... finally gave up and hit the back button... tried to pull up new posts, waited a minute and a half, got "server too busy" tried to get back to the main forum page... too busy. finally got in, went here, it's 9:42.

If it's too many searches, how 'bout non members can't search, or can't search more than once every 5 minutes or something? 550 people on now, only 141 members.
I'd gladly pay for this if it was as fast all the time as it is on Sunday mornings... heck, I'd pay anyway and let the chips fall where they may. 9.43

950pm server busy but when I got in I found 124 members active and 380 NON members using the site, maybe time to mandate membership to use search system or view topics?

We've implemented some changes to speed up the server. Most are hidden but the "similar threads" when posting a topic are gone as that used a complete forum search for every single post. As mentioned the search engines are really clobbering us lately but getting rid of them is not a great idea, msn and google are rating us at or near the top of the results. pretty cool.
