Anyone running 225/45/17 and 255/45/17? I bought my tires and wheels and the car won't be ready until spring, I would like to see a picture if anyone has one. I am worried the 225 may be too small. I am running 17x7s and 17x8s.

That's the size I'm running. Sorry about this picture, it's not very good but I have 17x8 in the front and 17x9.5 in the rear.

Thats the exact rim/tire sizes I had on my old setup. Here are some pics: 225/45/17 on 17x7 front and 255/45/17 on 17x8 rear.

Sorry the front wheel width is masked by shadow,I can take some better pics if you need them. I just replaced the rears with 17x9.5 275/40/17 and like it. I am debating installing 17x8's in the front but I dont want any rubbing issues when turning.

Thanks Ray!! Those are great pics. I feel better now, it hard to judge tires and wheels without the car. Do you happen to remember the backspacing on your old wheel setup?

Yeah the fronts were 17x7 with 4.0" bs and the rears were 17x8 with 4.75"bs.

Be advised that at that time I had a chevelle 12 bolt in the car temporarily and the rear axle was about 1" wider then a camaro rear end (61 1/4" vs 60 1/4"), So with the stock axle rear wheels will be inboard another 1/2" from pic.

I now have a correct width 12 bolt and 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 5.5"bs

Those are some meats on the back!!!! Thanks again. I am running 4" b/s and 4.75" b/s as you did originally. I think they will due fine. However, I may have to switch to the 17x9.5s later.

Rayzor: Do you have any pic's of the tires from the rear or a front shot down the side?

Do you have an issue with rubbing in the front with the 245/45/17? Do you know what backspacing is on your 17x7 wheel?

By the way your car looks great!

Black69 or Midlife Cruiser,

Do you have any rubbing issues with the 8 front rim? I was looking at getting a set of American Racing Hospters 17x8 front with 225/45/17 and 17x9.5 255/45/17. What back spacing are running?

4.75 on all 4's. no frame rubbing that i'm aware of. i did have problems on extremely hard bumps with rubbing the fenderwell bolts. I replaced them with allen head bolts (not your everyday allen, these looked like rivets) and that was the end of that. i have all stock suspension with KYB's all the way around.... I'll try and post a pic here, i'm still trying to figure this out.. if it doesnt go thur i'll have the pic in my gallery.

Thanks Midlife. I think I might go 17x7 in front and 17x9.5 in the rear just in case I want a bigger tire in the rear.

Hi guys, I just put some 17's on mine. They are 17x8 4.75bs with Nitto 555's 245/45/17 up front and 17x9.5 5.5bs with 275/40/17 out back. I have no rubbing issues on front or rear. There are some pictures below on the link.
