I thought my poor old 67 convertible was sagging due to the back of the doors hanging low. I tried rebuilding and adjusting the hinges but didn't see much improvement. Then a convertible “expert” suggested I try new body mounts before taking any radical measures. I was skeptical but anything was worth a try. Well, I just finished installing solid body mounts form DSE and it made a huge difference… my doors line up nicely again. The job was not difficult and only took about 2 hours...one of the best improvements I have done to the car. I just wanted to share.

Thanks, Mark.

I'm curious - did you use the standard height or the half inch shorter? I'm in need of body mounts too.

I used the standard height. The DSE are very nicely made. I jacked up the car by the rockers (use 2 x 4 to spread load) and loosened one side at a time. I read somewhere that its important to only do one side at a time to keep the frame alignment from changing. Also, I sprayed the bolts with liquid wrench a week before attempting this. The bolt came out after hitting them with the impact wrench for a while. Good luck.

How many mounts are in the back end? I had solids put in the 6 spots upfront front but not the rear. My doors are tight as well.

Thanks

The rear frame is welded to the body
