What is the main differences between a small block and big block heater box. This is the cover that bolts to the firewall with the blower motor in it.
I have a Sb setup but I'm switching to BB, Do I need to change this cover for clearance or anything?
Thanks

I've seen BB conversions that kept the SB heater box,..but the factory put a different box for BB's and SB's. The BB box has the heater hose outlets exiting the middle of the box. The SB heater core outlets exit the firewall just inboard the heater box.
Here's a question,..why didn't the General us the BB set up for all cars?

As long as three isn't any clearance issues I'll just keep the SB setup.
Thanks

Check out the pics in my sig. I converted my SB blower box to a BB box. All you need is the "adapter" to make it look like a true BB setup. The "adapter" is sold at any repro house and is a small cover that goes over the BB heater core tubes. The pics are towards the end of the site.
