this is my 1st post on this forum, so... hi. :D

so on with the question:

for about a month now my cd player wont power on or the dome lights.
i have a '94 z28.

i checked the fusebox and the fuse is fine.

ive never had this problem before so.....

can anyone help?

Some CD's, espacially aftermarket brands, will have a separate inline fuse that you will also need to check. Otherwise, you need a multi-meter to check to see if you have power at the fuse box ... I assumed you tried a different fuse just to be sure ... If the deck is not illuminating, and you have power and a ground, then it is probably time to get a new one ...rarely is it worth the cost to try to fix one ... Pull the deck, check the plug, and connections ... If you are uncomfortable about doing this, a steroe shop can trouble shoot the power issue rather easily .... Just ask them ( B4 they do the work ) if they will credit any troubleshooting charges towards the purchase and installation of a new deck if it comes to that

yes, i replaced the fuse with a few other ones, and used that fuse in another palce and it works.

someone else told me to take out the deck and check the fuse there also.

ok so, i took off the panels and took out the deck.
i took out the fuse [which was good] and replaced it with another one.
i also unplugged everything, replugged it back in, and still no power.

i dunno...the 3 things that stopped working at the same time were:

cd deck
dome lights
trunk button in glove box

maybe a short?

I don't know about newer Camaros (hell - i don't really know that much about old ones either!) but... In some Hondas and some Nissans - there are some fuses in the engine compartment that go to some interior items. You might try poking around in there.

yeah the relays are in the engine compartment, but there isn't anything to do with the radio in there.
