View Full Version : Pass the Grey poupon
69Camarozz396 Nov 22nd, 05, 04:37 AM A Bentley Dealer selling a L78 Camaro at Bentley prices. Looks like a nice car. I wonder if the Camaro is the one that dirty up their floor with a little rubber action!

I typed this with both of my pinkies extended. They cramped up on me real quick, I'm going to have to work on that. :D Phil
KWIK 69 Nov 22nd, 05, 07:59 AM Looks sharp.
I noticed there is a black & white object on the trim piece between the package tray and the rear window in this picture. What is that? I don't remember seeing that on mine...

Scott Taylor Nov 22nd, 05, 08:15 AM It's interesting that they failed to include a picture of the trim tag, I'm guessing X11 or X44. I love the optional yellow wheels, you don't see those every day. The car obviously spent some time in the ghetto, judging by all the graffitti under the hood.

I believe that is the Vigilite lens for the rear. You can see the front Vigilite lenses on the front fenders.
Also, since this car has a white vinyl top shouldn't the stripes be white?
KWIK 69 Nov 22nd, 05, 08:38 AM Wow, that light makes sense, but why have vigilites for front and rear if they are both on the same switch? Haha, must be the mark of a good salesman. :p
I thought the stripes were of contrasting color to the paint, and the top too for that matter? Instead of the stripe not being white, I thought the top should be black, although that would be defined by the trim tag.
I think it would look more appealing to me if the top and the stripe were the same color (black). Either way, it's a sweet machine they have put together.
Gary L Nov 22nd, 05, 08:43 AM No mention of numbers or how "original" it really is.
1969 Camaro Dude Nov 22nd, 05, 09:12 AM Same dealer had a black 69 Z-28 with white stripes same mileage statred at $300,000.00 don't think it sold tho.
mr396 Nov 22nd, 05, 09:27 AM The vigilites are fiber optics going to each light bulb,if one of your lights are out,it doesn't show thru the cable. cool option

He currently has a blue Z/28 on eBay with a minimum bid of $140,000. and it has a reserve. The guy is a total dreamer. I don't think any Z/28 anywhere has ever sold for that kind of money. He also has a couple of Corvettes that he is asking crazy money for. The guy is either a total moron or his customer base is made up of them.

As already stated the vigilite light monitor has a fiber to each bulb (headlight, running lights, tail lights etc) it has nothing to do with electricity or the light switch. It allows you to see if a bulb is burnt out or not. The fender mounted pieces monitor the front lights and the piece on the package shelf monitors the rear and is visable in the rearview mirror.

z10kl Nov 22nd, 05, 02:38 PM I think the default color for stipes on a daytona yellow car is black even with white top. I don't like the look though.
JohnZ Nov 22nd, 05, 05:47 PM I asked them to post close-up photos of the trim tag and stamp pad. :)
RamAirDave Nov 22nd, 05, 07:32 PM Believe it or not guys, I built that car about 5 years ago. It just recently sold to that guy, but I had heard it went for $115K. Was sold out of AR by the guy we built it for this last spring.
Its the real thing, and the original color combination. Was surprised myself on that. Had assumed it was a black top car until I found a scrap of white top vinyl in the car, and checked the tag. Sure enough. And it did have black stripes, since it was still in its original paint when we got it in. Thought about a black top, but since its unusual and original, decided to keep it that way. Unfortunately, they dont give any undercarriage pics. The floorpans are Daytona Yellow. Obviously not correct, but really shows off the detail.
One last note. It did not have all that graffitti on it when it left here. Someone else did all that, and it kinda bugs me a little. Oh well.
