I just want to say, I don't think I've run across a nicer bunch of people than you guys. I got some good info from you guys on my rear axle, now tell me if I got the engine the salesman said I did. Numbers on the Lt rear of block 10036033 and on the front Rt side of block ME 353{hard to read}. I was told it was a "327" bored .030. I'm thinking its not. It also reads Mexico over the number on the rear of the engine. The numbers on the heads are 3973487 and B 6 71, and CONV4, and GM14. The thing runs real fine, I've taken it to 6300rpm so far, it did start to flatten out a little over 6000. With the 4.11's and the hard shifting T-350, its a fun little car to run. That's a Mexican-built 350 Goodwrench 4-bolt crate engine, 2-piece rear seal. :)

Well, not a 327, but not bad I guess either.

Like 'JohnZ' says - you got yourself a fine "Hecho en Mexico" TargetMaster block there...
The decode is;
M = Mexico
E = May
The numbers may be off or
3 = 3rd (there's no 35th day ;) )
and the "53" may be an 83 - as this block casting was used from 1980 ~ 85/86.
May be some more numbers you're not seeing.
The encoding has varied some through the production of TargetMaster/GoodWrench replacement 350's.

The heads are not to bad :thumbsup:
These can be 2.02 or 1.94 - depending on original engine they were on.
Casting date is 1971 which fits with the availability of these heads.

No telling if the crank in it is from a 327 or the overbore amount without a teardown - hard to trust anything the guy told you at this point.

Glad to hear your happy with it though :beers:
