The vin # will only tell us,
When your car left the Los Angeles plant, it was an 8 cylinder coupe.

The trim plate (cowl tag) on the firewall, above the master cylinder, will provide more information.

Thanks guys, I'm glad it's a v-8.

Hawaiian Camaro,

I will be in Hawaii on Maui for 10 days helping my father-in-law in Dec. It should be fun, even if I am working.

steve unless the engine has the VIN stamped on it someplace, or you have the original dealer invoice or the Chev. build sheet, you cant know for certain what engine it was born with. Number of fuel lines can help tell what it 'didnt' have, beyond that there were alot of engine options. Is there a welded reinforcement plate on the rear frame rail behind the drivers side rear wheel? If there is and it has holes in it for exhaust hangers then it was a dual exhaust originally and that again eliminates some engine combos. What do you see back there?

# of fuel lines and exhaust doubler plate are not applicable on 68's.

I am thinking it came with a 327. Did plain jane 68's come with 350? I know my 67 SS Vert has the 350.

Thanks
