Well for some reason now I am not able to connect to my ISP with my FTP programs. I called my ISP and they said everything was fine on their end, it must be something wrong on my end. They said I would need to reinstall my FTP program. Well I have 2 different programs on 2 different computers and neither one will connect to the server so I can upload pics. Can someone give me some ideas???? Thanks
PS.....I am on dial up at home and DSL at my wife's store PC. At home I use CuteFTP and at the store I use Coffee Cup
:beers:

Do you try to connect by name or IP. The IP address of the wife's DSL connection could have changed.

Try to test by connecting to something like ftp.microsoft.com (ftp://ftp.microsoft.com)

First make sure you're not running a firewall program that's preventing you from getting outside via ftp.

Next, you can check connectivity to the site by using ping. Open a command window and type "ping <site>" where <site> is the name of the web site you connect to. For instance my site is users.adelphia.net, so for this I would use "ping users.adelphia.net". If you can get to the site okay the response will be something like "Reply from 68.168.78.29: bytes=32 time=53ms TTL=54". If you can't get to the site the response will be something like "Request timed out".

If you can ping to the site, then try to ftp from the command window. If you can connect via ftp from the command window, then the site is working okay and your ftp program is messed up. If you can't ftp from the command window, the site isn't working.

If none of this makes sense, you can send me a PM and I can help you out.

What type of Anti Virus and firewall are you using. I am using Mcafee 8.0 and by default under the Access Protection tab ftp incoming and outgoing is disabled. Sometimes in an upgrade features are shut off for protection.

Which programs are you running?

Which OS's are you using?

Are your PC's fully updated?
