Just had a thought while reading through these posts. I know I am relatively new here but have seen numerous requests for information on cars and numerous responses, all of which were good. The responses provide as much detail as possible from the provided information and then a request for more information to further identify the car. How about putting together a sticky that outlined all of the data that would help in identifying a car? This way people would know what to look for from the start. I would include the information on the bracket behind the drivers side rear wheel, the valve(?) in the brake line under the drivers door, etc. Also include where to find the numbers, could be simple like a link to another post that provides the information. I know there is one for the rear numbers.

Vin #
Trim Tag (please provide picture)
Rear Axle Code
Rear Gear Box Code
Transmission Code
Fuel Line Size
Number of Fuel Lines
Front Brake Type
Rear Brake Type
etc, etc,etc

It would take one (out of the many  ) knowledgable folks here at TC to put together but would, I believe, save time in the long run and should reduce frustration on both sides. Just a thought.

Please don't flame me too bad just trying to help. :D

Hi Scott,

Nothing wrong with your "thought" and it's not the first time it's come up as a suggestion. Jeff can mull it over and is free to add a sticky post if he wants. Now what I have seen is 1 out of 10 will read it and maybe cut and paste it into their post and include as much as they know. Another 1 of 10 will read it and try to remember what it asked for and will provide some of the info but will have forgotten the rest. Half of the remaining 8 will read the sticky post and not give it another thought, the other half will see the sticky and think to themselves "a sticky with posting rules, I don't need no posting rules" and ignore the thread completely.

Ok, I'm being funny to some degree but if anyone pays attention to any of the other threads before posting about the car they want info on they would already know what questions to ask and what info to provide. There is a personal contact factor folks want and some like to draw it out for all it's worth. If not they would just need a link to our feature years www.camaros.net/years info or the CRG site www.camaros.org and the info is there for the taking.
