Well the snow has hit and my motor isn't broken in yet so no dyno till next year. If anyone could give me a rough horsepower guess I'd get through winter with a little more sleep. I've got a SB400, .030 over, 9.0 to1 comp.,gm76cc heads,1.52 roller rockers, weiand Xcelerator intake, holley 650 double pumper,msd6al,probillet dist. and I have no idea on cam specs but it seems pretty mild. Thanks

I agree with Mark, I would guess 350-375 also. The estimate is very rough though since you provided very little info.

I think you guys may be a little high. We do need more infor on the heads and cam but I have to say maybe 300hp.

thanks guys. The guy who I got it from said around 375 but for all I know he was blowing smoke up my tailpipe. I didn't put the motor together so I don't have detailed specs but am much appreciative of the replys.

why cant your dyno the motor before you drive it??? builders build motors and dyno them immediatly all the time. infact if my builder didnt produce a dyno sheet and had a dyno in shop its be slightly annoyed and reqest one. there is absoloutly no reason why you cant dyno that motor. Especually since the way it performs dictates what converter (transmission even) as well as gears should be in the car. it can mean the difference between a snappy 300-350 horse street car and a major dog. Cam specs can help in theese choices also ,, you didnt mention a cam. since its the brain of the engine its pretty hard to even guess at what power and temperment it should have

It's in the car and I've been driving it. I'm in NY and the salt and snow have arrived so she is resting till April.
