I'm installing the astro vent kit manufactured by Original Equipment Reproduction (OER) from Year one. Kit included the seals, chrome bezels, balls, air shut off valves and a couple of black plastic elbows with approx. 30 degree bend to them.

I've read all the other postings with astro vent as the key word search and not found the answer I'm looking for. I understand that the acordian style extension piece is not manufactured anywhere so I bought dryer vent hosing and some hose clamps to span the gap between the air shut off valve and the plastic piping on the firewall. My question is: where does this elbow with the 30 degree bend go? I see a problem with the air shut off valve lever sticking too far out the hole in the dash. When the pull knob is screwed on all the way it looks like I'm missing some type of extension but this elbow doesn't seem to fit properly anywhere. Help!!! Car was a shell when I bought it so nothing to guide me.

last problem first... there should be a lil round "ferrule" type of thinbg in the dash hole, and knob fits through it. Similar to the ferrule around the door lock knob, only it's black plastic.
Ya got me stumped on those 30 degree bends tho... the silver bexel goes in from the front and gets screwed down... the ball goes in... the valve assy snaps on... my valve assembly's did bend at about 30 degrees themselves tho. and then the unobtanium corrogated hose goes on.
