Well, tonight has proven to be some what of an educational/thinking night here in bench racing. We've had planes taking off (or trying to) of treadmills and people floating 15,000' in earths orbit over the western US. I've dealt with OER pillar post moldings and some other nerve bending/non fitting parts today on the 69, so I'm done thinking for today, but I leave you with this............ You're in your 1st gen Camaro at a stop light with the windows rolled up. There is a fly buzzing around inside the vehicle. The light turns green, you hit the gas and pull out. Why doesn't the fly get smashed against the rear window? How does he/she know? I'm curious to see what we come up with here. :D

the air inside the car accelerates along with the car, and takes the fly pretty much with it. that and the fly probably compensates a few times a second for where ti is in relation to other objects, so it appears to the driver to be in the same spot relative to everything else inside the car.

Finally, an easy one. The windows might be up, but FO SHO! the top is down! Bye bye fly!

Does this apply to the dragstrip an 60' times as well, or just the stoplight/intersection scenerio? Thems are some smart flys. Please elaborate. And Jim, I never thought about the convertible. Good one!!! :D

a fly might not be very "book smart" like some people like to think they are, but they seem to be able to avoid a fly swatter pretty effectively when they want to- and that's usually coming at them faster than any car can accelerate.

The fly would head for the front window! Try it with a ballon and see what happens. Kevin
