Here's the story in a nutshell-the last time my 69 Z/28 was out of the garage was HOTROD Powertour East,1999.That's over 4 years ago. That trip demonstrated how sloppy the suspension had become so when I got home I tore the whole rear out.I bought rear discs, rebuilt the springs, got new polygraphite bushings. I also discovered some rot in the rockers that I didn't know was there so I had to fix that.
In the meantime, life happened-I went through 5 months of being unemployed, had another grandson born, fell in love with a fabulous woman, began the permitting process for an addition on the house-you know-life!
Today I decided to start the car up after God only knows how long.I had to search around for a good battery, finally yanked the one out of the tractor.Gave her a sniff of starting fluid and she lit! It took a little while to get all cylinders firing but she finally settled into that lopy idle that we all love.I was quite surprised at how well it ran,it had been so long-good oil pressure,no smoke-I'm stoked! This has rejuvenated me now,I really need to get this car done and back on the road!
