How many of you are still eating turkey? Since thur's meal I've had turkey sandwiches, a turkey and leftovers meal, more sandwiches, turkey soup with dumplings and tonight turkey enchaladas... Other than breakfast twice (the wife threw in trukey sausage this morning) I've only had 1 meal without turkey since thursday...

Not really complaining, just thinking it's about time for a steak... Anyone else been eating turkey all weekend? Have any creative leftover turkey meal ideas to share?

Hey John (Vintage 68) the brine bath turned out to be one of my better birds! "Good Eats" to say the least...

Mike,

You mean you had a Tofu steak, right? I thought beef wasn't allowed in the state of CA per Gov. Arnny.

I am Turkey'd out too. Had Turkey quesadillas for breakfast yesterday, that was the last bit of turkey I ate. I eat lots of turkey all during the year so it didn't take much for me to have enough. I don't eat red meat or pork, so I tend to eat lots of Turkey, Chicken, beans.

Just think if a few more weeks we get to do it all over again. I don;t think I am doing Christams dinner at my place so left overs will not be a problem. I can't wait for the Tomales though, now I will eat those for several days in a row no problem.

None of my family lives close any more so I was at a buddy's and no left overs for me :D. Don't matter though, I really like turkey and eat it year round. Actually had a turkey ranch and bacon sandwich (Arby's) for dinner to night.

Well, I quess there was a hidden 'Up-side' to not having Turkey for Thankgiving day this year...
We had crab-stuffed mushrooms last night - thus ending any fresh crab leftover cycle before it got started.

I've found the best thing to do to break this 'Turkey Meal' chain - is to make Turkey-Corn-Chili by the Saturday following - puts a quick end to the endless turkey cycle we all seem to fear...
Oh - I throw-in a good deal of ground or cubed beef into the chili to help mask the 'you-know-what' taste also ;)
I then give the carcass to 'misses' to boil down for broth and my bird work is done for the year...

Hope everyones Holidays were safe and enjoyable

John

Dennis - thanks for the review! we were just talking about that again last night - think we will give it a try around Christmas.

Like Ralphies old man in "A Christmas Story", I'm a bonifide Turkey nut. I could eat it for a month straight.

I did that Alton Brown recipe last year, and I highly recommend it. I will do it again next time we do the T-day dinner and probably will do it for Xmas.(went to the in-laws this year).

Had ham at "brunch" on Thanksgiving with family. Later that day I cooked a small turkey and there wasn't much left. As the weekend went on, Subway, Wendy's, and mexican food. Steaks last night (on the grill) and now, a ham sandwich for lunch. I like turkey, so it's ok with me. My favorite leftover turkey dish is either a turkey pot pie or creamed turkey on biscuits.
