My youngest son 12 years old, had just finished washing my Camaro, it was parked in front of my house in the yard on the grass. he had just came in and this guy stopped while my wife was headed to the store...He asked, is that Camaro for sale? she says no...he says would he trade for a 68 Charger? she says no...he says a 70 Cuda, but needs little work....she says no....after wards my oldest sons tells me about it....so i asked her about it and she confirms this story, this just happened this evening Sunday while i was in the garage...i agreed its not for sale...trust me... it still needs alot of work, but i care so much about my Ride to tell you the truth ...it would have to be an extremly high dollar figure for me to even thing about selling it...someone would have to come up with somthing i don't think anyone would "Dare" to pay.. ;) i wanted to get your feed back on this pole to see if im the only one that feels this way about my Ride....its not just a car....its not just a car....anyway ...please vote... and post if you can, i know theres a lot that reads the Threads ..but rarely will post, just to give me a reality check to see if im one of the few or if there is more out there like me...Thanks i will be looking foward to your respose.....Chris... :D

Everything has it's price. I'm not sure what my price would be though :)

I would sell it, but not cheap....and mine is all apart with not much work done. It would sell it only to buy one again, and to build the pro-tourer with it.

I would only sell it if someone were to offer me enough for it so that I could buy one that's already done... nobody in their right mind would do that!

If I were to sell, it would be for "crazy money" even then, I don't think I would.
I do like to keep up with what they go for, and enjoy pointing out to my wife that every dollar I spend on it is worth $2 that day and will be worth $4 in 5 years!

Every man/woman has their price, regardless of the amount.

Prices on everything, just like Newton's Law of Gravity -- "What goes up, will come down." Its a matter of time.

I wouldn't sell unless it was huge $$, not because I think the car is worth it, but all those hours turning wrenches, rolling around under it, bloody knuckles, etc. It's alot of labor! When you sell, you don't get much of the labor $$ out of it ;)

Not for Sale

Unless you have more money than common sense.

I have never been looking to sell my car. I turned down $45K back at a Super Chevy event in 2004. I had someone asking about buying it when I was leaving the show at Daytona this past Saturday. If it's the only way that I can get my hands on the survivor Z/28 that I know about, then I might sell the convertible. More than likely, I use a home equity loan to get the Z and keep the convertible.:)

Only crazy money, or should I say crazy cash is the only thing that would pry my car away from me. Two weeks ago I got offered 22k cash. Did not even blink an eye. Told him to up it at least 10k then I might begin to think about selling.

In ten years these cars will be worth even more rediculous amounts of money. In my opinion, all of these new retro cars that are coming around are just driving up the prices of classic american muscle cars. I'm sure almost everyone who owns a classic muscle car wouldn't mind owning a retro version, no matter if it is a Chevy, Mopar, or F*rd. I know I would love to have a new camaro (if it ever comes out), and my '67, sitting in my driveway side by side.

If the Camaro is definately NOT coming back within the next few years, I will buy one of those new Chargers, (if that is the real deal). Those cars are sweet. If GM can't satisfy my needs, at least someone not named Fo*d can. Although the mustang is a nice looking car, I could never buy one.

I was offered $65k to not even come pick my car up after the restoration was completed a year ago, offer still stands today but she sits in my garage in a car capsule looking better than new, call me crazy or insane but thats how attached i am so to speak, still have a few things to do to it to drive however right now im ok with just going out and taking a look every now and then.

I have found that every car I have ever bought involved the above statement.

I see our cars getting more and more desireable.
I don't like to sell things, but when I remember back to the day I bought my (car 68 convert) then the day I was offered 4X that amount before it even had fenders bolted to it... I turned it down, but it got me thinkin'... I figured that I was too close to driving this car to sell it before I got to drive it..

I'll sell, someday... and turn the car into a healthy down payment on a house... maybe...

I don't think I could sell mine any time soon.

Now if something was to happen and I needed cash quick to save my house or something like that ,it could happen.

Even though my 69 camaro is just a plain jane (with the original drivetrain sitting in the corner of my garage) and my 96RS isn't worth anything(but its my first new car), I would never sell either. One I don't think anyone would offer me what I think the cars are worth. Two I have a lot of work in my cars and most people would not have enough money to pay me for my labor, and finally, the wife would never let me get another.

My exact words also. Anything is for sale, but for a price, it all depends on how bad you want to play, cause you will pay.

My answer? "For a stupid amount of money." Nobody has ever made an offer.

I have never ever made money on a car that I sold...I am a terrible sales person. I am too honest and expect the same when I buy something. I can not stand going into a car dealer. Never bought a new car and never will from a car dealership. They are all crooks in my book. Hope no one out there is a car salesperson :) Sorry, just my opinion and experience.

my first car (and car i always wanted) was a 68, a 6 cylinder base coupe. i spent a good solid year and a half getting it how i wanted it, then had a guy offer me enough money and sold it to him (the amount was sick, you couldn't buy an ebay shell now for what he paid, but this was almost 20 years ago), and he wrecked (totalled) it before he made his first payment, to the bank fortunately. drunk kids and fast cars dont mix well apparently
while i didn't really regret it, i always wanted another one, preferably an rs. now that i have it, i cant imagine why i would ever sell it, it would definately have to be a ridicules amount of money, or trade for the right car, another 68 for sure.

I would have seriously considered trading for the 70 Cuda if it was in better shape than the Camaro. Right now, the price on those is stupider than a Camaro. Otherwise, it would take stupid money to sell.

Before I tore the Camaro apart, I was driving it a little; it was in really sad shape. But it was fun to be driving a 69 regardless. It was blowing upper radiator hoses alot, and every time it did and I was on the side of the road fixing it, I would have someone stop and ask me if it was for sale. I guess they figured that I would be more willing to sell when I was frustrated. I even had a guy in a brand new Mercedes Benz offer me 15k on the spot. I love that car and would not even think about selling it. I told my uncle I would keep it in the family, and I will for the time being.
But as some have said, every one has a price eventually.
Just my 2Cents.

I would sell for the right price. The Camaro isn't really my "dream car" but my whole family can fit in it and enjoy it. I don't have any plans to sell but if the price was right the car would go! Right now I have to pull the trans out AGAIN! Seems the case may be cracked and that really doesn't make the car very appealing to me at the moment.

I have seen low mile cars garner anywhere from 300K - 400K in the past 12 months. I'm wondering where your car would fit in?

Kind of hard to tell. I think alot of these big prices are a bunch of BS. Since it is one of two and matching numbers, it should be worth quite a bit? Still a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. When you see prices like 400K for a Yenko Nova, it makes you wonder.

Just got my first Camaro Thanksgiving day, 69 Z-clone, might sell in order to upgrade to real SS or something, so the price would have to be out of line with what it is. Otherwise, not for sale. By the way, why do people insist on asking how much I paid for the car, isn't that in bad taste?

Get out of my yard before I arrest you!!! NOT FOR SALE. Just kidding. I'm not an a**hole. I love talking cars when people stop. I get asked if its for sale and I always turn them down. I will not sell because its become a part of the family. My daugther who's 9 now helps me tinker with it. She wants to learn how to drive it. I just couldn't sell.

I'm dealing w/ this question right now,I just sold my Boss 302 and the guys' son wants to know what I want for my Z. Don't want to sell, but I'm not made of money. The Wife says sell and buy a real nice Camaro that you can drive and enjoy and we can pay off a couple of bills w/ the rest. I'm completely torn!

Thanks for the kind words, Mike. I really love the car, but sometimes yen for something different (something I can take out and just drive). Then I have to think about what dragsterman said, and from a financial standpoint, it really doesn't make the most sense I don't guess. I reckon what really need to do is find me a beater X44 put a big block in it and just enjoy cruising in it.

http://www.camaros.net/forums/C:\Documents and Settings\DEADLYZED\My Documents\My Pictures\ironman2.jpgI could never get rid of my girl,it's like my first born, there's nothin' better then takin' a stroll through town, and seeing everyone turn their hed's to a rumblin' rock solid 406 small block that I myself took the hard earned $$&time to put together. I've also have had this happen where I sold vehicle's I actually just enjoy driving,to & from work even, and when there gone it's like..why the hell did I sell it,just to start over again? I don't know, maybe I'm too sentimental about my vehicle's??
Also,Camaro's are too big of a chick magnet, too sell, and watch the next guy in my car too get a couple of 26 year old's hangin off the door sill's when trying too get outta the car.(happened to me the first night I had the new 406 in on Halloween night, cruisin' Windsor,Ont,Can breakin in the motor before winter storage.)
