In case anyone is looking, I actually came across some longer wheel studs. Dorman part number 610-157 is 2 1/8" in length.

These studs are the same knurl as what the 1st gen cars use on the front hubs, and they will also fit the 2nd gen cars in the rear axles.

I rremember doing a search a while back and though there were a ton of posts, there was nothing to lead me to a good replacement stud w/part number.

So there it is! I hope this information is of benefit to anyone searching for it.

Take care.

Good info. Here's a Napa part # that works as well 641-1615. I didn't measure them but the end result is the same as the fronts.

Are both these the little-bitty, (smallest), knurled ones??

Not sure. I took one to Napa with me and they matched it up. It came out of a 10 bolt 8.2.

On my wife's second gen, she bought the Baer front kit so the front studs were Metric 12mm.
I bought Dorman rear studs for a 4th gen Camaro and drilled out the axle holes for them so we'd have the same lug nuts front and rear.

The Metric studs are thicker than the old 7/16" studs, pretty close to 1/2" size.

Baer makes you use metric lug nuts if you get one of their brake kits?
i thought their stuff was supposed to be "bolt it on and go" in most applications. i don't know about all y'all, but if i spent the weekend putting my new brakes on, and got it done on Sunday evening and wanted to go for a test spin, but i couldn't bolt the wheels on because the auto parts stores were closed and i couldn't get different lug nuts, i would be more than a little pissed off..

PDQ, I used the Dorman studs (I think they were) and Advanced Auto had a Lawson box full for the pickin's. I bought Moroso 3" .480 studs and had a problem on install (too big) drilled out to larger size and snapped two off. I bought the 2" .500 knurl and installed them (after drilling again) and the fit is perfect.

I have 3" long, .480" knurl studs in my tool box now!!

They are the same knurl as my car had stock.

I think Jegs sells a bunch of these??

I wouldn't worry about "metric" and nuts as long as the ones fit together and work for you!!

Should hell freeze over and the first escaped soul should ask, the B-body (Impala-Caprice) cars use 46190 Moroso 0.685"x3" 1/2"-20. Just thought you might want to know.

Not froze yet but I used the Mor 46160 all round on drums and rotors. Used the acorn style nut with a good wide shoulder.
